When the windshield comes off, that camera’s alignment gets disrupted. Even a few millimeters of difference means the system can’t accurately judge distance or detect lane markings. Recalibration realigns the camera to factory specifications using specialized equipment and software.
Skipping this step means your safety features might not work when you need them. Some shops skip it because they don’t have the equipment or training. We don’t. Every vehicle that needs it gets full diagnostic scanning, recalibration, and verification before you drive off.
It depends on your vehicle and what features it has. A basic windshield replacement for an older car without cameras runs around $200 to $300. If you have a newer vehicle with ADAS systems, rain sensors, or heated glass, you’re looking at $400 to $600 because of the additional calibration work and more complex glass.

It depends on the size, location, and type of damage. If you have a chip smaller than a quarter or a crack shorter than three inches, and it’s not directly in the driver’s line of sight, we can usually repair it. The repair uses specialized resin that bonds to the glass and stops the damage from spreading.
If the crack is longer than three inches, if it’s at the edge of the windshield, or if it’s directly in front of the driver, replacement is the safer option. Cracks compromise the structural integrity of the glass, and in a rollover accident, your windshield provides up to 45% of the vehicle’s structural support.

After we finish the installation, you can drive the car after about an hour of cure time. That’s safe for normal driving conditions. But for the first 24 hours, avoid car washes, rough roads, and slamming the doors hard—anything that puts stress on the fresh seal.
We’ll give you specific instructions before we leave based on your vehicle and the conditions that day. Temperature and humidity affect cure times, so if it’s cold or damp, we might recommend waiting a bit longer before driving. You’re not stuck without your car for days, but you do need to let the adhesive properly bond for your safety.
