You’ve got a crack in your windshield. Maybe it happened on the Southern State this morning, or a rock kicked up on Lido Boulevard yesterday. Either way, you don’t have time to drive somewhere, wait around, and hope they can fit you in.
That’s where mobile service makes sense. The work comes to you—your driveway, your office parking lot, wherever works. Most windshield repairs take 30 to 45 minutes. Replacements run about 60 to 90 minutes. You’re not losing half a day.
If your car has a front-facing camera for lane assist or emergency braking, that camera needs recalibration after a windshield replacement. Not every shop can do that on-site. When they can’t, you’re making another trip to a dealer or specialty shop and paying another bill. We handle the calibration right there, so the job’s done in one visit.
You also don’t pay out of pocket if you’re going through insurance. New York’s zero deductible law covers windshield work, and we bill your carrier directly. No forms to mail in. No reimbursement wait.
First Class Auto Glass started in 2016, but the experience behind it goes back over 20 years. This is a family-owned shop, and when you call, you’re talking to the person who’s actually doing the work. No dispatch center. No technician roulette.
We’re certified by New York State as a mobile repair shop and Dinitrol certified for professional-grade materials. Over 10,000 jobs completed across Long Beach, Nassau County, Suffolk County, and Queens. Every job comes with a lifetime warranty because the work holds up.
Long Beach drivers deal with salt air, temperature swings, and highway debris year-round. Your windshield takes a beating here, and when it needs attention, you want someone who knows the area and shows up when they say they will. That’s what we do.
First, you call or text with details about the damage. We’ll ask about your vehicle make, model, year, and whether it has a camera mounted near the rearview mirror. That tells us what glass and equipment we need to bring.
We schedule a time that works for you—usually same-day or next-day, including weekends if needed. If you’re using insurance, we contact your carrier and handle the claim paperwork. You don’t chase down approvals.
When we arrive, we assess the damage. Small chips and cracks under 11 inches can often be repaired in place. The resin fills the damaged area, restoring clarity and structural integrity. If the crack is too long or in your line of sight, replacement is the safer call.
For replacements, we remove the old windshield, prep the frame, and install new glass using urethane adhesive that cures quickly. If your vehicle has ADAS features, we calibrate the camera system on-site using specialized equipment. The whole process—glass replacement and calibration—happens in one appointment. You’re not making a second stop at a dealership to finish the job.
Ready to get started?
You get the windshield replacement or repair, obviously. But you also get the camera calibration if your car needs it—no extra trip required. That’s a big deal on Long Island, where most shops either don’t have the calibration equipment or charge you separately for it.
We also handle sunroof glass, door windows, and back glass. If it’s automotive glass and it’s broken, we fix it. The service is mobile, so there’s no tow fee or drop-off hassle. We come to your home, your workplace, or wherever the car is parked in Long Beach and surrounding areas.
New York State requires windshields to pass inspection. A crack longer than 11 inches in the wiper’s path is an automatic fail. You also risk a ticket up to $150 for obstructed visibility. We make sure the repair or replacement meets state standards so you stay legal and safe.
All work is backed by a lifetime warranty. If there’s ever an issue with the installation—leaks, wind noise, adhesive failure—we come back and make it right. No argument, no fees.
Yes. New York State has a zero deductible law for auto glass. If you carry comprehensive coverage, your insurance company has to cover windshield repair or replacement without charging you a deductible.
That means you pay nothing out of pocket. We bill your insurance carrier directly and handle the entire claims process. You don’t submit forms or wait for reimbursement checks.
Some people worry that filing a glass claim will raise their rates. In New York, insurers aren’t allowed to increase your premium or drop your coverage solely because you filed a glass claim. It’s a no-fault claim, and it won’t count against you the way an accident would.
Most windshield replacements take between 60 and 90 minutes from start to finish. That includes removing the old glass, prepping the frame, installing the new windshield, and letting the adhesive set.
If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera that needs calibration, add another 30 to 45 minutes. We do that on-site, so you’re not making a second appointment somewhere else.
You can drive the car as soon as we’re done. Modern urethane adhesives cure fast enough for safe driving within an hour. We’ll give you specific guidance based on temperature and humidity that day, but in most cases, you’re good to go right away. Just avoid car washes for the first 24 hours to let everything fully cure.
ADAS stands for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems. If your car has features like lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, or adaptive cruise control, there’s a camera mounted behind your windshield that makes those systems work.
When you replace the windshield, that camera’s angle and position can shift by even a millimeter. That’s enough to throw off the whole system. The car might not detect lane markings correctly, or the emergency braking could activate late—or not at all.
Calibration realigns the camera so it reads the road accurately again. We use specialized equipment to run the calibration on-site during your windshield replacement. Some shops don’t have that equipment, which means you’d have to schedule a separate visit to a dealership and pay $200 to $400 extra. We include it in the service, so the job’s done right the first time and you’re not chasing down another appointment.
It depends on the size, location, and type of damage. Small chips and cracks—usually under six inches—can often be repaired if they’re not directly in the driver’s line of sight.
We inject a clear resin into the damaged area. The resin bonds with the glass, restores structural integrity, and stops the crack from spreading. The repair usually takes 30 to 45 minutes, and it’s a lot cheaper than replacement.
But if the crack is longer than 11 inches, crosses into the driver’s view, or sits at the edge of the windshield, replacement is the safer option. New York State inspection rules also matter here—cracks longer than 11 inches in the wiper area mean automatic inspection failure. When we assess the damage, we’ll tell you straight up whether repair makes sense or if replacement is the right call. No upselling, just honest guidance based on what keeps you safe and legal.
We cover Long Beach, but we also service all of Nassau County, Suffolk County, and parts of Queens. If you’re in Island Park, Oceanside, Rockville Centre, Lynbrook, or anywhere nearby, we’ll come to you.
Mobile service means we bring everything to your location. You don’t drive to a shop and wait. We show up at your home, office, or wherever the car is parked, and we do the work there.
Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available, including weekends. If you’ve got an emergency—maybe a crack that just spiderwebbed across your windshield overnight—we’ll do our best to get to you fast. Call or text with your location and vehicle details, and we’ll let you know exactly when we can be there.
Every windshield we install comes with a lifetime warranty. If you ever have an issue—leaks, wind noise, adhesive failure, anything related to the installation—we come back and fix it at no charge.
That warranty isn’t some fine-print gimmick with a dozen exclusions. It’s straightforward. If the work fails, we make it right. We’ve completed over 10,000 jobs, and the installations hold up because we use quality materials and proper technique.
If something does go wrong, you’re not dealing with a corporate claims department or waiting weeks for approval. You call the same number, talk to the same person, and we schedule a time to come back out. That’s the advantage of working with an owner-operated shop. There’s accountability, and there’s no runaround.
